Telling Stories: Oral Storytelling for Families with Young Children
Storytelling is not only good for our children's development, it is also good for nurturing a deeper connection with our children, sharing family history and personal values, and broaching difficult topics. However, it is somewhat of a lost art. Storytelling is a skill that needs practice, and one that can feel difficult, at least at first.
This workshop will be facilitated by Anaar Shariff, storyteller, infant massage teacher, and yoga instructor. She will cover the philosophy of storytelling, why it matters to infant and child development, and how to find your storytelling voice. There will be time for us to gather round and listen to a tale geared to the ages of the children there, and for your enjoyment too! You're never too old (or too young) to enjoy listening to a story.
Here is what we have planned:
- The Workshop will be 10:45am-12pm, Tuesday June 26 (Rain date June 28).
- It will be held outside in Burlington.
- Cost will be $8 per caregiver, payable in advance.
Due to the nature of this workshop, space is limited.
E-mail me to RSVP or if you have any questions at email@example.com. I am looking forward to connecting with you at this workshop.
