Fridays for the Future -Niagara

If you are a health care professional, clinician, or student who wishes to participate in planning this event, please contact me or search for events near you.

This event is organized by Extinction Rebellion Niagara. I am participating as a member of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment. The event starts at 11am at St. Catharines City Hall.

Climate change is the greatest threat to global health in the 21st century.

On April 20 2019 The Lancet published a “Call for Clinicians to Act on Planetary Health”, in partnership with the Planetary Health Alliance. This call encourages all clinicians, residents, students and other health care professionals to engage in discussing the health impacts of human-caused environmental change and support patient education, outreach, and activism. The Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) Ontario is organizing events across the province. I invite Niagara clinicians to participate in planning and particpating in the Fridays for the Future event on September 27th.

Fridays for the Future were inspired by Greta Thunberg and are a peaceful youth-driven movement created to urge an immediate increase in political will and concrete policy to address the climate crisis. This movement has inspired people from all over the world to unite in asking representatives to take effective action on climate change. Please save the date and advertise this event widely in your networks
